Introduction: The Witch of Blackbird Pond is is a historical fiction set in the 1600s. Kit Tyler lived with her grandfather on the island of Barbados but,when her grandfather died she moved to Connecticut to live with her aunt and uncle. Her life is different than it was in Barbados. Her uncle is a stern man who has many rules. Her aunt and uncle are Puritans. Kit was raised in the Church of England. The puritans have different values than she does. Kit was always free with no work when she was living with her Grandfather in Barbados,now she must work to help her aunt and uncle.
Barbados is very different from Wethersfield. Barbsdos is a tropical place Wethersfield is not there is no snow in Barbados so when it snows in Connecticut that is the first time that Kit has ever seen snow.
